- One was a Sumo Deadlift High Pull, 50 lbs...ouch.
- One was a Push Press, 45 lbs...ouch.
- One was the Wall Ball (without the wall or a ball - both of which I think would have been helpful. We used a 15 lb weight instead and just squatted way down)...ouch.
- And the grand finale of the set was the 20 inch box jump, which was super difficult - especially after the Wall Ball. My legs were like jello. However, I did it. I "Googled" 20 inch box jumps and apparently this is a pretty big deal - especially for beginners. I may have only done 1-3 each set, but, hey it's a start, right? To be honest, I was surprised at how scary the box jump was. I remember watching "The Biggest Loser" on TV and thinking, what's the big deal, why are those people so scared? Well, now I know. It takes a lot of faith in yourself and your body to make the jump successful.
When I left the class last night, there was a crazy storm. I got to the red light, waited for it to turn green because cars were coming, went to turn right and a car went flying by me running the light. I was only a few feet away from being hit very hard. I composed myself and went on. Then I was on the highway headed home and I noticed a tree, in what seemed super slow motion, coming towards the ground. As soon as I got past it, the tree fell right behind me. I composed myself again and got to my exit, where there were a lot of rescue vehicles. A car just like my sister-in-law's had been hit very, very hard. I wanted to stop but got waved through by a fireman. I immediately started calling her and texting her with no response. I was almost in panic mode, so I called her roommate, who finally answered on the 4th ring. My SIL was sitting right beside her, safe and sound. PTL!!! This eventful ride home is what I thought about at the end of my yoga session today - the part where you are supposed to clear your mind and relax. Oops.
I'm happy to report that I have been way within my calorie limits on the MyFitnessPal app - which I highly recommend - the last 2 days.
Until next time...
